What's your word?

I love this idea. My friend Sam pointed it out on her blog, and it comes from Ali Edwards and her blog.

Here's the idea. Pick one word that describes 2009, or that you want to be part of your year. It can be something you strive for, something that moves you, or something that doesn't even make sense right now. This is the message from Ali on her blog:

"Can you identify a single word that sums up what you want for yourself in the next year?

It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be a thought or a feeling or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key is to find something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother's word or your spouse's word or your child's word - this is YOUR word.

One little word can have big meaning in your life if you allow yourself to be open to the possibilities. And here's one thing that is totally interesting: sometimes a word will pop into your brain and it will not make any sense to you right now. Give it some time. Let it percolate a bit. I have often found that our hearts speak to us in very unique ways. Maybe this is a word you need to hear but just aren't ready for it yet. Again, be open to the possibilities."

My word will be Breathe. Everyone that knows me well knows I can get stressed out easily. I have a big year ahead of me, full of exciting things and changes! But changes always come with stress, and I want to enjoy every second of all the amazing things I'm going to experience in 2009. The word breathe just says so much to me. I feel like it's something that can help keep me grounded and in the moment so that I always remember the important little things. And here's a quote I found to go along with it:

Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours. ~Swedish Proverb

Here's to 2009!

P.S. Look at the fun things you can do with your word! I LOVE these necklaces. So beautiful. And what a cute doodle!

If I may add to your quote:
"Wag more, bark less"
(I see a bumper sticker that has that and I absolutely love it!)

Another cool thing to do with your word and quote... wordle.com. Ha, you just gave me a really good idea for my next blog post! :-)

OMG! The captcha for this comment is "goduck." How random!
